November 9th: Stimson Lumber Tree Arrival, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Portland, OR
Downtown's holiday festivities begin when Portland heralds the arrival of the City's most spectacular 75-foot tree. Several thousand people participate in welcoming the tree along the parade route, complete with Santa Claus, seasonal music and local dignitaries.
November 13th-December 23rd: The Polar Express, Mt. Hood Railroad, Hood River, OR
The Polar Express comes to life when trains depart the Hood River depot for a memorable journey. Listen to the story of The Polar Express and meet Santa and his elves at the North Pole. During their train ride, guests will enjoy Christmas carols as they are served hot chocolate and cookies, and Santa will greet each child and give them their own special Christmas bell. Children are invited to wear their pajamas. Get your tickets soon because they are selling out fast!
November 23rd: Macy’s Holiday Parade, Portland, OR
Watch as the cast of colorful characters makes a fun-filled march throughout the streets of Downtown Portland. It all leads up to the big moment when Santa Claus arrives, so don't forget your wish list.

The City gathers to celebrate the official start of the season by lighting the spectacular 75-foot tree. Join Mayor Tom Potter, Santa and the Portland Jazz Orchestra at this bright and beautiful community celebration.
