Buy at AllPosters.com - Now ShowingParents of Portland preschoolers need to stop whatever you’re doing and run to the phone to make a reservation for babysitting at The Academy Theater. Yes, you read that correctly, babysitting at a movie theater. If you have ever dreamt of the day you could go to a theater with your preschooler and watch a film that isn’t animated that day has arrived! You no longer have to wait for movies to come out on DVD. You don’t have to beg and plead for a babysitter. The Academy Theater has made every parent’s dream come true. These might not be first-run movies, and shows are limited to Thursday through Sunday, but who are we to complain?

What Preschoolers Will Love About The Academy Theater

The play loft is filled with toys and fun, and the childcare providers keep everyone engaged and entertained. From puppet shows to coloring and stories, preschoolers get to have some play time while you’re enjoying some grown-up time. Since space is limited to 6 children, or even less if there are infants, your preschooler will not be overwhelmed with lots of unfamiliar faces.

This theater isn’t just for mom and dad. Family-friendly flicks are played during the earlier show times, in addition to weekend matinees and after-school specials.
