Baby Loves Disco - Portland

By Charlana AlbiosLogo (c) Baby Loves Disco

Everyone knows that preschoolers love to dance, but did you know that they love to dance to disco music? DJs spinning disco tunes, bubbles machines, hula hoops, and egg shakers turn a Portland nightclub into an afternoon dance party for preschoolers. Currently being held at the Crystal Ballroom, the party will move to the Wonder Ballroom in January 2008. Brush up on your dance moves and boogie on down with the whole family.

What Preschoolers Will Love About Baby Loves Disco

Preschoolers have such a great time dancing and get a kick out of seeing mom and dad let loose. There’s a huge dance floor and plenty of room for everyone. With all the dancing and playing, preschoolers can work up quite an appetite, but not to worry because Baby Loves Disco has it covered. They provide lots of yummy snacks for everyone and, if your preschooler needs to take a break from the action on the dance floor, there’s a toy-filled Chill-Out Lounge with teepees and pillows for anyone who might need a catnap.

What Parents Will Love About Baby Loves Disco

When was the last time you got our groove on? No, cranking up the kiddie tunes and jumping around in the living room doesn’t count. If you can’t remember, then it’s definitely been too long. Moms and dads get a chance to dust off those dancing shoes and boogie to their favorite 70s and 80s tunes. Don’t worry about making a fool of yourself because everybody’s doing it. Let your hair down and shake your groove thing because who knows when you’ll get a chance to do it again. If a juice box just won’t quench your thirst after all that dancing, there's a bar serving adult beverages.

Other Things You Should Know

The party features real DJs, Belinda Miller and Hova Najarian from Greasy Kid Stuff, playing real music on real vinyl albums.

Feel free to dress in your disco best. Some kids and parents get into the groove with funky outfits for the occasion.

There isn‘t a lot of seating, but there’s plenty of floor space. If you’re not one of the first people in, you’re probably going to end up sitting on the dance floor or on a bench in the Chill-Out Lounge. With a change in venue coming up this might change.

This event is geared toward children ages 0-7 years old so the Chill-Out Lounge can get a little chaotic with the mix of ages trying to play with all the toys. You’ll need to watch your step around crawling infants and toddlers.
